The AFAO National Education Team (ANET) upholds the principles of a community-based response to HIV/AIDS through which gay men and people with HIV/AIDS work collaboratively and in partnership with their communities to build effective, sustainable and appropriate responses to the epidemic. The team works closely with AFAO's constituent organisations.

The Education Team's work includes:

• campaign and resource production,
• delivering training opportunities to the membership,
• strengthening capacity through a number of demonstration projects, and producing policy and analysis of social and clinical research addressing changes in the epidemic most notably the increase in HIV notifications.
