Finance Administration Officer

(Permanent part-time 3 days per week) Sydney, Australia

If you have sex work experience, are enthusiastic about mathematics, have a keen eye for detail and accuracy, and have strong computer skills then this position might suit you. The successful application will also need strong organisational and problem solving skills and either have experience with MYOB or a willingness to learn (MYOB training and access to a support line is offered for this position).

This position acts as the Scarlet Alliance Finance Administration Officer within a small team, contributing to the effective financial management of the organisation and effective operation of the Sydney office, assisting the organisation to meet audit and incorporation requirements and providing administration support. The duties include:  Maintaining the Scarlet Alliance financial records using MYOB; processing accounts payable and receivable; reconciling bank accounts; preparation of monthly financial reports; preparing BAS returns; processing wages; monitoring income and expenditure against budget; booking flights and maintaining financial data bases.

Migration Project Officer
Multilingual - Thai or Cantonese or Mandarin or Korean and English
10 month contract
Part-time position (1-2 days per week), based in Sydney

This pilot project aims to enhance the capacity of sex worker peer educators in Australia to provide support to migrant sex workers.

The successful applicant will have sex work experience and be multilingual - English and Thai, Cantonese, Mandarin or Korean. This position will network closely with the Scarlet Alliance membership in order to improve capacity of peer educators delivering services to migrant sex workers. The position operates within the Migration project team. The successful applicant will be based at the Scarlet Alliance Sydney office, and will be required to undertake interstate work travel and may be required to undertake international work travel.

The role contributes to effective representation of migrant sex workers’ needs and provides referrals, advice and information on laws, migration rights and responsibilities, services and access to justice to sex worker peer educators in Australia. The Migration Project Officer will contribute to the development of resources and contribute to a Migrant sex worker steering group.

Director, Community Health

This role is responsible for the development and long term sustainability of health programs in the areas of HIV prevention for gay men and sex workers, sexual health, lesbian health, anti-violence and alcohol and other drugs. This complex role requires a strong leader who instinctively engages with our communities and expert stakeholders.

You are a senior manager of people and programs with extensive experience in HIV and GLBT health. You have an expert understanding of the principles and practices of health promotion, social marketing and community development.

Director, Policy, Strategy and Research

This role is responsible for leading policy development, review and advice, implementing comprehensive strategic planning and evaluation systems, and building organisational research capacity, in order to enhance ACON's program and service delivery.

To succeed you must have high level policy, planning and management skills, be politically astute with proven people and organisational skills and have a successful track record in evidence-based policy development, particularly in the health care sector.

Reporting directly to the CEO, these are full time (38 hours a week) three-year contract positions, with a salary package commensurate to demonstrated skills and experience.

Volunteer Counsellor Coordinator - Southern Region

12 Month Pilot Program

You will enhance the delivery of ACON's services in the Illawarra by using your professional counselling skills to coordinate the delivery of high-quality volunteer-based psychological services to people living with and affected by HIV and the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities.

Your excellent interpersonal skills, current qualification in psychology, social work or counselling together with an understanding of current HIV and sexual health issues will be essential to the development and evaluation of this pilot therapeutic program.  You will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of psychological interventions to ensure the highest quality counselling support to ACON's communities. You will also work in partnership with a range of partner organisations and other ACON projects to build the capacity of the team to increase client access across NSW.

This is a part-time (10.5 hours per week) position on a 12 month contract and is based in Wollongong.

Campaigns Coordinator

Want to make a difference in gay men's lives?

This role will see you helping conceive, develop, implement and evaluate a range of social marketing campaigns and print resources targeting ACON's communities of interest with a particular emphasis on HIV/STI prevention and gay men. These campaigns include the use of a range of media, including printed resources, advertising, website development and social media. You will also be responsible for liaising with external stakeholders to ensure that ACON is properly represented at forums, working groups and other committees.

The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of health promotion and/or advertising and the principles and practice of social marketing with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a small team. Excellent communication and project management skills are also essential for this role.

This is a full time position (35 hours/week) and it's based in Sydney.
